Alumni Tim Weikert receives Schaeffler Innovation Award
Our former PhD student Tim Weikert was honored on 25.07.24 with the Innovation Award of the Schaeffler FAG Foundation for his doctoral thesis entitled “Modifications of amorphous carbon coatings to adapt friction conditions and increase wear protection”, which he wrote at the KTmfk – Chair of Design Engineering. In his dissertation, Mr. Weikert worked on the coating of sheet metal forming tools and the optimization of local forming degrees as well as the detection of wear. During his time at the chair, Mr. Weikert has significantly influenced research in the field of tribological PVD/PACVD coating systems. We thank Mr. Weikert for his collegial cooperation and wish him all the best for the future!
